June was a month where burnout hit me hard. It was expected and months in the making. I didn't try too many products or places this month because of this. Most of my favorites for this month are content.

Products

Primo Water dispenser with Pet Station - Both my husband and I do not enjoy hard water tap, so we always keep water bottles on hand. Since moving to a desert climate, our water bottle consumption has increased significantly. We became uncomfortable with how much plastic waste we were producing in a week (despite recycling all of it). So we decided to look into other options, and we found that our preferred water source (Arrowhead) offered water delivery to our new address. We decided to give it a shot and purchased this water dispenser. We love it. The dispenser is super easy to use and set up. I love how the water comes out ice cold, and I love the unique pet bowl at the bottom so I can dispense ice cold water to my cats too. Our water delivery service reuses the empty bottles so we no longer are filling our recycling bin to the brim with our excessive water consumption.

Places

Anthony Vince Salon - This nail salon opened near me in Aspen Grove in Littleton, CO and I went to their opening. The location is beautiful and I've never seen such attentive staff anywhere else. Highly recommend.

MIYO Cafe - This is a restaurant in Castle Pines, CO that I especially enjoyed this month. Being a vegetarian that doesn't enjoy sugary breakfast foods like pancakes, doesn't usually leave me with a lot of options when I go out for breakfast. MIYO's has multiple savory dish options that I enjoy. They've been busy every time I've gone, but service is very fast so I never waited long.

TV

John Oliver's Last Week Tonight - This is a show that we've watched for years (and the primary reason why we have an HBO Now subscription). I bring it up this month because we didn't get a notification when he came back from break, so we had tons of episodes to binge on. The humor is great, the topics are always relevant, and I've never been disappointed by this show.

MIB International - We watched the newest Men in Black movie in theaters in June and really enjoyed it. I liked this one a lot better than the last one they came out with. The storyline was fun, and the casting on point. I especially enjoyed Kumail Nanjiani's character.

Books

Dare to Lead by Brené Brown - This is one of those books where I know there is more to discover from it despite finishing it once. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in management. It's a really great guide on empathetic leadership. I'll be re-reading this soon.

Alpha Girls by Julian Guthrie - This book provides a unique perspective of the early days of Silicon Valley and tech from a few women's perspectives. I kind of wish that the writer had organized by person rather than by timeline, but overall it was super interesting. I'm really happy to see women's stories becoming recognized.

The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine - There's not much I can say about this thriller without giving too much away. It has a slow start, but then becomes a real page-turner. It's worth the read. I was really happy with both the twist and ending.

Maybe You Should Talk About It by Lori Gottlieb - So. Good. Another one that I plan on re-reading someday. This book is basically a psychologist's internal reflection on her own issues and demons. It's an incredibly interesting perspective.
